Since 1987, at the Fundación Carlos F. Novella, we have dedicated ourselves to the formation of values and the development of life skills.
Our history
1899
The first cement factory in Guatemala, Carlos F. Novella y Compañía, now Cementos Progreso, was established.
1976
After the 1976 earthquake, the Enrique Novella Alvarado School was founded in the village of El Sinaca. It was officially authorized as a school in 1999.
1986
The Fundación Carlos F. Novella was created by the Novella family to preserve the altruistic spirit of Carlos Federico Novella Klée.
1996
The Fundación Carlos F. Novella became a founding member of the Council of Private Foundations of Guatemala.
1999
With the slogan “Se vale soñar, ¿Cual es tu sueño?” the Carlos F. Novella Museum was inaugurated. The same year, the “Cimentando las Bases” program was launched to support the learning processes of young children.
2005
The Escuela Sociodeportiva was established to promote sports in Zone 6 of Guatemala City. A science-based program was also started, leading to the Aulas Técnicas y Tecnológicas program.
2007
The Cursos Libres program was launched to support entrepreneurship.
2008
The Centro Educativo Estuardo Novella Camacho was founded, offering a flexible education methodology with a focus on entrepreneurship. The “Mejores Familias” program was also established to recognize women as agents of change.
2009
The Escuela de Música Carlos F. Novella was established to promote art through musical practice as a means of social inclusion and value formation.
2012
An alliance was signed with the Real Madrid Foundation to include its methodology in the Escuela Sociodeportiva.
2013
The “Vos y Yo hacemos la diferencia” program was created to develop creative solutions to environmental problems in young people.
2014
The “Paso a Paso” program was established to support girls and adolescents in developing their psychosocial skills.
2017
The Capacitación de maestros program was launched to develop the necessary skills to strengthen the comprehensive development of preschool and first-grade children.
2020
The Factoría Ciudadana program begins, which seeks to improve the living conditions and social integration of former prisoners and returned migrants.
2021
The Construcción Ciudadana project was consolidated to promote civic values and capacity development. An alliance with the Ministry of Education was established to support preschool-aged children through the “Acompañame a Crecer” program.
